Science-fiction site-specific promenade performance at Edinburgh International Climbing Arena, where the audience are the last group of people to leave a dying planet earth.
Set designs included a honeycomb museum of ‘Old Earth’ relics telling a story of the past and the future through objects; a ‘data-mining’ hub, alive with illuminating threads and paranoia; a memory bank where a white space corresponded to a filmed set; and a space colony complete with detailed ‘living pods’, corresponding to the actual space in which the audience were viewing them.
The design incorporated interactive and new media projects where audience members wore interactive motion trackers and could upload their memories prior to the show.
Becs worked with academics at University of Edinburgh Centre for Infomatics and Edinburgh Napier University to develop the interactive parts of the design.
