The set is a early 1960’s hotel room (the dying days of the english servant class), with echoes of the Rocco style (cream and gold detailing, Louis XV chairs); it is reminiscent of the windowless romantic grotto where the gentry played out their milkmaid fantasies, and with its various levels alludes to a tiered wedding cake.
