Becs was selected to work with Leeds Creative Labs on the Hepworth Edition – a creative challenge for teams of artists and academics from the University of Leeds to ‘remix’ the Hepworth Wakefield and make the gallery more ‘porous’ for members of the public.
Together with sound artist Alex De Little , computer scientist John Snell, and digital artist Paul Miller , Becs examined the role of the gallery attendant as a bridge between the art object / art world and the general public, and Wakefield residents’ conceptions about the Hepworth. The research culminated in a series of interviews designed to be listened to on wireless headphones whilst viewing the gallery exhibitions in the Hepworth.
